WHO'S WHO
Priest in Charge Reverend Canon June Steventon
For the past year or more, each Deanery in the Diocese of Liverpool has been discussing how they can work together with a reduced number of stipendary clergy. Winwick Deanery, of which St Oswald's and St Michael's are a part, have been allocated eight such clergy across the deanery.
As from January 2012 the two parishes of St Oswald and St Michael, Burtonwood will share the ministry of the Reverend Canon June Steventon as their stipendary priest. We are fortunate to also have the minstry of Reverend Martin Jones, who is full time chaplain at Whiston Hospital and who has offered to offficiate at some Sunday Services between the parishes, when he is not on duty or on call at the hospital.
At the moment we have the same Service times (10am on Sunday and Thursday) and whilst we will do our best to keep these times until Easter, they may have to change. None of this is easy for any of us and we would all like to have one parish, one Vicar and keep the times we have always had; however we do not have enough stipendary priests to do this and so things are changing.
Please continue to pray for both parishes as we seek a way forward asking God how you can be part of the future ministry of our parishes.

HOW TO FIND US
From Junction 8 of the M62 follow the signs to Burtonwood. Stay on the road through the village and the church is on the left after the Chapel House public house. From other places, if you arrive down Gorsey Lane or Phipps Lane turn left and the church is on the left. if you arrive down Farmers' Lane or Alder Lane turn right and the church is on the right just before the Chapel House. For those with Satnav the postcode is WA5 4PS. The Parish Hall, which is directly across the road from the church next to the cemetery has a large car park.
At St. Michael's we do all we can to help you and to make your visit as comfortable and meaningful as possible - whatever your age. We were recognised by the Diocese as a 'Child Friendly Church' and are very proud to display the logo on our notice board, magazine cover, etc. The service at 10am on the first Sunday of the month is an All Age Service which makes it particularly family-friendly!
